Srinagar Police on Wednesday announced the arrest of two individuals involved in a culpable homicide case in Srinagar district.
The incident was reported on 17th February, when an unidentified male body was found in the flood spill channel near Darul-uloom, Bemina. Upon receiving the information, a police team from Police Station Bemina along with the FSL Mobile Unit and Crime Photographer of PCR Srinagar arrived at the scene. Relevant exhibits were recovered, and proceedings were initiated under the provisions of 194 BNSS.
The preliminary inquiry revealed that the case involved culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Consequently, FIR No 13/2025 was registered under sections 105, 238, 241 BNS in PS Bemina and an investigation was launched.
After thorough investigation, the police identified the accused as Imtiyaz Ahmad Machloo (son of Ali Mohammad) and Muneer Ahmad Sofi (son of Bashir Ahmed Sofi). Both men were arrested and are now under investigation.
