COAST REGION (NEWS9) — Two men were arrested on drug trafficking charges following a raid by anti-narcotics detectives in Boa, Kombani area early this morning. The suspects, Kassim Omar Konerwa, 34, and Issa Omar Konerwa, 24, were found in possession of 12 sacks of marijuana, believed to have been stored for distribution.
The operation, carried out by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), is part of an ongoing crackdown to combat drug trafficking in the Coast region, an area that has struggled with narcotics-related crime and addiction.
The two suspects are currently in custody and are expected to be arraigned in court shortly. Law enforcement agencies have vowed to dismantle drug supply networks, which have long plagued the region.
