BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. – One person has been arrested, and another is still at large after a theft investigation by the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) uncovered a scheme involving stolen packages.

On August 16, BCSO deputies responded to a report of a laptop being stolen outside a residence in the Washington area. Their investigation revealed that the laptop had never been delivered by the contracted FedEx service, MJD&SJ Enterprise, which was responsible for delivering packages in Beaufort County. Deputies determined that an employee on the delivery truck was falsely marking packages as delivered without actually completing the deliveries.

As the investigation expanded, additional victims in the Washington area were identified. Working alongside the Greenville Police Department, BCSO executed a search warrant at the Voyage Apartment Complex on Bellamy Drive. Several stolen items, including the missing laptop, were recovered during the search.

Two employees of MJD&SJ Enterprise were identified in connection with the thefts. Samtavious Davontae Brunson, 29, of Lehigh Acres, Florida, was arrested at the scene and charged with one felony count of embezzlement.

Warrants were issued for Akeeme Robert Robinson, 29, of Cape Coral, Florida, who faces two felony counts of embezzlement and one felony count of obtaining property by false pretense. Robinson remains at large.
