The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in connection to a shoplifting theft at the Ulta Beauty store at Eastlake Marketplace, while a second suspect remains at large.

Aileen Rodriguez Escareno, 20, was arrested on March 31, after being flagged by U.S. Customs and Border Protection at the Paso Del Norte Bridge while re-entering the U.S. Rodriguez and Jesus Alonso Reyes Guevara, 24, are accused of stealing approximately $1,900 worth of cosmetics from the store on February 18. Store security cameras captured footage of the duo leaving the store in a white GMC Acadia with Chihuahua license plates.

After distributing their photos to law enforcement agencies, Rodriguez and Reyes were identified by the El Paso Police Department, linking them to other thefts in the area. Rodriguez was arrested on charges of theft over $750 but under $2,500, and later released from the El Paso County Jail on a $5,000 bond. Reyes, who is a Mexican citizen, remains at large.

Additionally, detectives are searching for another suspect, Adan Gutierrez, 42, of Chaparral, New Mexico, who is wanted in connection to a separate theft at the same Ulta Beauty store. Gutierrez allegedly stole $500 worth of merchandise on March 4, including a hair dryer, and fled in a Chevrolet Silverado with a New Mexico license plate. He was previously arrested last summer for a grab-and-run jewelry theft at Cielo Vista Mall.

Anyone with information on Reyes or Gutierrez is urged to contact the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office at 915-832-4408.
