Vellore Taluk police arrested M. Rajamani, 28, and N. Sadiq Basha, 54, on Wednesday for stealing four sovereigns of gold jewellery, silver objects, and Rs10,000 cash in Kaniyambadi village near Vellore town. The suspects, both from Ranipet town, had been jobless for months and decided to rob isolated houses in nearby villages.
The duo, known to each other for many years, targeted vulnerable homes to carry out their theft. The police have successfully apprehended them, and investigations are ongoing.
