Two individuals were arrested in connection with the burglary of diamond-studded jewellery worth Rs 2.3 crore from a diamond merchant’s office in Bandra (west). The main accused, Arya Pratap Nag alias Dipak Dhruv (31), was apprehended in Chhattisgarh on Wednesday. His accomplice, Ravindrakumar Gupta alias Salman Khan (46), was arrested in Mumbai on Saturday. According to the police, it was Gupta, a man Nag met at Chor Bazar, who helped lead authorities to the key suspect.
The burglary occurred on March 10, when employees arrived at their office in the Turner Heights building and discovered the crime. Police stated that the accused had entered the office after climbing a tree near the building. Since the office building lacked CCTV cameras, he then accessed the parking area on the second floor and entered through the rear side. Once on the sixth floor, the accused entered through an open window and found the locker keys in a drawer.
After analyzing the surrounding CCTV footage, police tracked the suspect’s movements from Bandra to Chor Bazar, where he met Gupta. The police later recovered stolen items worth around Rs 1.9 crore from the accused. Authorities continue to investigate the case, working to recover the remaining stolen property.
