In a significant development, two individuals were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly killing a 27-year-old youth, Builder Khan, in Naya Bhojpur village. The arrested men, Jhingan Yadav (son of late Kabila Yadav) and Rahul Kumar (son of Birendra Yadav), both residents of Naya Bhojpur, were taken into police custody and sent to jail.

Earlier, another key accused, Pramod Kumar Yadav alias Budha Yadav, was also arrested and sent to jail in connection with the case. The three are accused of brutally killing Builder Khan, the son of late Maula Khan.

The body of Khan was recovered on May 9 from Naya Bhojpur village, triggering an investigation. The victim’s mother, Jeera Khatoon, had filed an FIR against the two arrested men and five unidentified youths. According to the FIR, Khan was allegedly abducted by Jhingan Yadav and Pramod Kumar near Munshi Masjid in Naya Bhojpur. They told Jeera that they needed Khan’s PAN and Aadhaar card details for inquiry.

However, a local youth informed Jeera that her son was being assaulted by four to five people after being tied to a tree near Pasia Bagh. When Jeera arrived at the scene, she found her son unconscious. Khan reportedly named some individuals before passing away, claiming he had been beaten over a false charge of stealing Rs15,000. He later succumbed to his injuries.

The police, led by Dumraon SDPO Afaque Akhtar, are continuing their investigation into the matter.
