Two Arrested for Job Fraud in Sidco and ISRO Cases

Police Register Cases of Rs 5 Lakh Fraud in Job Scams

by Ananya Mehta

The Cantonment police have filed three cases against two men, Anil Kumar alias Swami from Thiruvalla and Sundareshan from Kottarakkara, for allegedly swindling several individuals out of lakhs of rupees by promising jobs at the Small Industries Development Corporation Ltd (Sidco) and ISRO. The two suspects were running an office called Fair Deal Associates, located opposite the AG’s office in Statue.

The accused have a history of similar fraud cases across the state and were previously arrested on January 31 by Alappuzha South Police. In one instance, Mohana Kumaran Nair, 64, of Poojappura, paid Rs 5 lakh for a permanent job for her nephew at Sidco. However, the accused only managed to arrange a contract-based job for the nephew, and months later, he lost that job. The fraudsters then promised a job at ISRO, but they failed to deliver, prompting Nair to file a police complaint.

The police have stated that the accused are currently in jail. They will seek custody for further interrogation as part of the ongoing investigation into the fraud cases.
