The murder case of 38-year-old construction worker Khageswar Sabar from Odisha, who was killed in Raia, Goa, has been solved with the arrest of two suspects while they attempted to flee the state.
Police arrested one accused at Margao railway station, while the second was apprehended at Bambolim en route to Panaji. The victim, a native of Goudachendia, Kalahandi, Junagarh, Odisha, died following a violent altercation with the two accused over a trivial dispute.
The investigation, led by Maina-Curtorim Police Station in-charge PI Arun Desai, revealed that the victim had been living with two associates—Sashibant Majhi (43) and Rabi Majhi (28), also from Odisha. Both suspects fled after the crime and went into hiding.
Crucially, tenant verification forms and mobile phone tracking helped police monitor the suspects. Informants also tipped off authorities about Sashibant Majhi’s presence at Margao railway station, aiding in his capture.
The police continue further investigations into the case.
