TUPLEO, Miss. (NEWS) — A Tupelo man, 32-year-old Jarion A. Whitley, was arrested and charged with grand larceny after allegedly stealing a vehicle and returning it with noticeable damage following an altercation.

On April 19, Tupelo police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at a residence on Kimbrough Avenue. The victim stated that someone known to them had taken a set of car keys without permission and driven away in their vehicle.

Later, the stolen car was involved in an altercation at a different location before being returned to the owner with visible damage.

After conducting an investigation, Tupelo police arrested Whitley the same day and charged him with Grand Larceny for taking the motor vehicle.

Whitley’s bond was set at $10,000 by Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weir. The case will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury for further review.
