In a breakthrough for the Banderdewa Police, Pradip Siva (29), an absconding truck driver, was arrested in Bengaluru on January 28, 2025. Siva had been evading arrest since August 2023 for the theft of a truck loaded with TMT bars worth Rs 16.35 lakh.
The truck was initially dispatched from M/S Satyam Steel & Alloys in Banderdewa to Ledo, Tinsukia, Assam, on August 22, 2023. However, the truck never reached its destination, and the driver disappeared with the vehicle and the stolen goods. Despite several raids in Assam, Siva had remained untraceable.
With coordinated efforts between Banderdewa and Hulimavu Police Station in Bengaluru, the police team tracked down Siva, and he was apprehended. The police transported him back to Arunachal Pradesh for further legal proceedings.
This case highlights the importance of diligent police work, combining human intelligence and technical resources to apprehend suspects across states.
