SIDNEY, Iowa — The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Troy Allen Adkisson, 42, of Tabor, on multiple charges, including theft, unauthorized use of a credit card, and false reporting.

Adkisson, who served as the Fremont County Fair Board president, is suspected of submitting false documentation related to purchases, which led to personal payments exceeding $15,000, according to the sheriff’s office.

In addition, authorities say Adkisson later lied to investigators, claiming the items he allegedly bought on behalf of the fair board had been stolen. The fabricated report was part of a broader attempt to conceal the misuse of funds.

He is currently being held in the Fremont County Jail on a $48,000 bond.

The investigation is ongoing, and officials say further charges are possible as they continue to review financial records related to the Fremont County Fair Board.
