PEMBROKE, N.H. — A 22-year-old man from Merrimack County is facing felony charges after allegedly threatening to kill New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte via Snapchat and referencing a weapon of mass destruction, according to court records.
Tristan Alexander Anderson was arrested on August 28 after Pembroke police received a report from a concerned individual who had seen disturbing messages Anderson sent to his roommate via Snapchat. The roommate’s ex-boyfriend reported the messages to authorities.
In one message, Anderson reportedly wrote:
“I’m going to target the NH Mayor Kelly Ayott. With my weapon of mass destruction.”
Authorities say Anderson continued with antisemitic and anti-government rhetoric, referring to the “Israel Deep State” and declaring he was “going insane.” In another message, he allegedly said:
“These Jew feds need to f—— die.”
Governor Ayotte, a Republican and former U.S. senator, was not harmed, and there is no indication that the threats were acted upon. Authorities have not disclosed the specific type of weapon Anderson may have been referring to.
Anderson is currently facing serious felony charges related to making terroristic threats and hate speech. The case remains under investigation by state and federal law enforcement.
