PONTIAC, Mich. (Fox 2) — A 33-year-old Pontiac man, Trevor Andrew Scarbrough, was arrested Thursday evening after authorities say he trafficked a woman for over a year, involving her in horrific acts and exploiting her for profit.
Scarbrough was arraigned Saturday and is facing multiple felony charges that could result in up to 20 years in prison if convicted. He is currently being held at the Oakland County Jail on a $1 million bond and will be placed on a tether if released.
The arrest followed an investigation by Oakland County Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Team and the Human Trafficking Task Force, who acted on a tip and executed a search warrant at Scarbrough’s home. He was taken into custody without incident.
Sheriff Michael Bouchard issued a strong statement, condemning the disturbing nature of the crime.
“This twisted suspect forced his victim into sexual acts with an animal in addition to trafficking her,” Bouchard said. “If you are a similarly minded predator, we are coming for you.”
Scarbrough is charged with:
Prostitution/accepting the earnings
Using a computer to commit a crime
Human trafficking enterprise resulting in commercial sexual activity
Sodomy
Delivery/manufacture of a controlled substance
Felony firearm
Keeping a house of prostitution
Authorities believe there may be additional victims, and the investigation is ongoing.
