POLK COUNTY, FL — A 39-year-old Davenport man, Trenton Jovon Wright, was arrested early Wednesday morning, May 28, by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office following a routine traffic stop that quickly escalated.
Deputies pulled over Wright’s silver Nissan sedan around 12:25 a.m. on Ronald Reagan Parkway after observing multiple traffic violations. During the stop, Wright allegedly provided a false name, but the deputy soon determined his true identity.
A records check revealed that Wright’s driver’s license had been suspended since 2023, and that he had an outstanding warrant for grand theft issued in Broward County.
Wright reportedly attempted to walk away from the scene, but was immediately detained and taken into custody.
He is now facing several charges, including:
Felony Driving While License Suspended/Revoked (DWLSR) — 4 prior offenses
Resisting an Officer Without Violence
Providing a False Name to Law Enforcement
Outstanding Grand Theft Warrant from Broward County
Wright was booked into the Polk County Jail, where he remains in custody pending further legal proceedings.
