MORRISVILLE, PA — A Trenton, New Jersey man is now facing homicide charges in connection with a 2024 shooting at a Bucks County strip club after the victim died from his injuries, authorities announced Tuesday.
Pedro E. Rodriguez, 28, was initially arrested on August 29, 2024, just hours after he allegedly opened fire at The Border Gentlemen’s Club, located at 440 S. Pennsylvania Avenue in Morrisville. He was held on attempted murder and assault-related charges.
However, after 28-year-old Mekhi Norman, the victim of the shooting, succumbed to his injuries, prosecutors moved to upgrade the charges to criminal homicide.
Rodriguez is now formally charged with:
Criminal homicide
Two counts each of aggravated assault and simple assault
One count each of discharging a firearm into an occupied structure and possession of an instrument of crime
Seventeen counts of recklessly endangering another person
Rodriguez remains held at the Bucks County Correctional Facility, where he has been in custody since his arrest. His arraignment on the new charges is scheduled for Friday, according to the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office.
The incident occurred at 1:14 a.m. on August 29, when Morrisville Police responded to reports of a shooting at the adult entertainment venue. Officers discovered Norman with multiple gunshot wounds — including to the head, thigh, and torso.
Norman was transported to a nearby hospital and remained in critical condition until his recent passing, which prompted the escalation of charges.
Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the shooting, nor whether Rodriguez and Norman knew each other prior to the altercation.
The case remains under investigation.
