PRICEVILLE, Ala. — Amber Shuntay Battle, 23, of Birmingham was arrested Saturday night after a traffic stop on Interstate 65 southbound led to the seizure of over $60,000 in cash, drugs, and a firearm.
At 7:50 p.m., Priceville Police officers initiated the stop near mile marker 332 due to an obstructed windshield and the vehicle following too closely. During the stop, officers conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle, which revealed a felony amount of marijuana, a firearm, and various drug paraphernalia indicative of the illicit sale and transportation of bulk narcotics.
Battle was taken into custody and transported to the Morgan County Jail. She faces charges of unlawful possession of marijuana in the first degree, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and tampering with physical evidence. A Morgan County judge set Battle’s bond at $640,000.
The vehicle, a 2023 Dodge Charger, along with the U.S. currency, was seized, and condemnation proceedings are pending.
The Priceville Police Department will continue to follow up on the case with local federal authorities.
