Alliance, OH — Tracy L. Shaffer, a 58-year-old woman from Canton, was arrested and charged with felony theft after stealing $2,000 worth of power tools from a local store. According to Alliance Police, Shaffer confessed to the crime following her arrest.
On December 8, 2023, Shaffer was caught pushing the stolen tools out the storeroom door of Family Farm and Home, a retail store located in the 1300 block of E. State Street. The store specializes in a wide range of products for home, farm, and garden use.
Alliance Police said that Shaffer’s actions led to an immediate investigation, and she was subsequently apprehended. The tools were taken without payment, and Shaffer admitted to the theft once arrested.
The incident has raised concerns over shoplifting in the area, with police reminding the public of the serious consequences of such criminal actions. Shaffer is now facing felony theft charges for the crime.
