Tracie Coston, Brandon Nash Charged in Infant Abuse Case

Parents face felony charges after severe injuries to 5-month-old

LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. — Two residents of Lenoir County have been arrested and charged with felony child abuse after a 5-month-old infant suffered severe injuries, according to warrants and the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office.

On May 18, 2025, 39-year-old Tracie Dawn Coston and 42-year-old Brandon Lee Nash, both living on Spiritual Drive, allegedly caused serious bodily harm to their daughter. The infant sustained multiple traumatic injuries including severe dehydration, malnourishment, a brain bleed, fractured ribs, a fractured femur and tibia, and head trauma.

Following an investigation, Coston and Nash were arrested on Tuesday, May 20, and are facing multiple felony charges, including:

Felony child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury

Felony child neglect causing serious physical injury

Both were booked into the Lenoir County Jail with secured bonds set at $1 million each.

Authorities continue to investigate the case.
