OAKVILLE, ON – Two suspects from Toronto were arrested following a high-speed chase involving stolen vehicles early on January 5th.
Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) responded to a tip from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) about a stolen black Dodge Charger operating with two Jeep Grand Cherokees. Police located the Charger and one of the Grand Cherokees traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Dundas Street near Ninth Line in Oakville.
After a brief pursuit, HRPS officers successfully deployed a tire deflation device, taking out the front tires of the Jeep. Despite continued evasion, the vehicle was eventually pinned by HRPS officers near Jaguar Valley Drive in Mississauga. The two occupants of the Jeep fled on foot but were apprehended after a brief foot chase.
Investigations revealed the Jeep had been stolen from the Peel region.
