TOPEKA, Kan. — The Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested Josiah Williams, 38, of Topeka, and Paige Keefe, 31, of Omaha, on Wednesday, Sept. 3, following a traffic stop that led to child endangerment and drug possession charges.
Deputies encountered the vehicle on U.S. 75 around 9:15 p.m., noticing only one functioning headlight. Upon investigation, officers learned that Williams was driving with a revoked license. Keefe had an outstanding $500 failure-to-appear warrant from Ford County, Kansas.
K-9 Carla alerted deputies to the presence of drugs inside the vehicle. A search revealed cocaine, scales, baggies, and other drug-related paraphernalia. At the time, three children were also in the car.
Williams faces charges including aggravated endangerment of a child (three counts), distribution and possession of a stimulant, possession of drug paraphernalia, and no drug tax stamp. Keefe was also charged with aggravated child endangerment (three counts), possession of a stimulant, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The Brown County Sheriff’s Office continues its investigation.
