BATH — An investigation into a suspicious vehicle parked outside a permanently closed business in Bath led to the arrest of two individuals.
Police observed a woman slumped over in the driver’s seat and approached the vehicle to check on the occupants. During the contact, a controlled substance was discovered.
The two people inside the car, 32-year-old Tony Cole and 31-year-old Jennifer Benson, were detained for further investigation. Subsequent searches revealed a large quantity of controlled substances both in the vehicle and on Cole and Benson.
Cole faces one felony count and two misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Benson was charged with two felony counts and one misdemeanor count of the same offense.
Both were released on appearance tickets pending further legal proceedings.
It is important to note that being charged is an accusation, and both individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
