MULBERRY, FL – A bizarre retail theft at a Family Dollar store in Polk County, Florida involved one suspect allegedly defecating on the floor to distract employees while the other stole $500 worth of cleaning products.

The incident occurred around noon on December 18, 2024, at the Family Dollar located at 2170 Bailey Road. According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), the two suspects, Tina Joyce (57) and Nikevee Curry (36), worked together in an unusual way to execute the theft.

A Strange Distraction Tactic
Authorities say Curry loaded a cart with Gain, Tide, and Clorox products, while Joyce created a diversion by defecating on the floor, forcing an employee to clean up the mess.

PCSO humorously nicknamed them “Mr. Clean” (Curry) and “Ms. Dookie” (Joyce) in their social media post about the crime. Surveillance footage showed Curry pushing a cart of stolen merchandise, while Joyce walked in the same direction shortly after.

Arrests and Charges
Tina Joyce was arrested on February 18 and charged with felony petit theft. She was later released on $5,000 bail on February 28.
Nikevee Curry, who has a prior theft and parole violation from 2023, is still wanted by authorities.
PCSO ended their post with a playful nod to Joyce’s actions, stating: “#SheWasntSuspectNumberTwoForNothing.”

Authorities urge anyone with information on Curry’s whereabouts to contact the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
