CANYON COUNTRY, Calif. (SCV News) — A man was arrested over the weekend after stealing around $400 worth of clothing from a sporting goods store in Canyon Country.
According to Deputy Robert Jensen, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, the suspect concealed the stolen items in a bag and fled the store on his bicycle without paying.
Patrol units quickly responded and were able to catch up with the suspect, recovering the stolen merchandise. The man, later identified as Timothy Woodhead, 37, a transient, was found to have prior theft convictions and active theft-related warrants for his arrest.
Woodhead was booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail on charges related to theft.
