FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – A West Fargo man, already facing charges for an April burglary in Horace, is now facing additional charges stemming from a shoplifting incident at West Acres Mall.
Timothy Lowseth has been charged with false information to law enforcement, attempted theft, criminal mischief, and theft following the April 16 incident.
According to police, Lowseth was caught attempting to steal a $65.99 pair of jeans from Buckle by wearing them under his own pants. When he tried to remove the tag, he caused a large tear in the jeans. When confronted, he allegedly tried to pay using fake “motion picture” money, which he knew was not legal tender.
Lowseth also attempted to steal another pair of jeans worth $79.99 from American Eagle Outfitters, placing them in his backpack and leaving the store without paying.
When questioned by security and police, Lowseth falsely identified himself as Scott Lowseth. However, officers recognized him from a North Dakota booking photo, confirming his true identity.
This mall incident occurred just five days before the burglary for which he was arrested in Horace. His legal troubles now span multiple incidents and charges.
Authorities continue to investigate, and further charges may be pending.
