Tikka Muhammad Gerukatte Booked Under POCSO Act

Shop owner accused of sexually harassing a minor girl

A POCSO case has been registered at Belthangady police station against a shop owner, Tikka Muhammad Gerukatte, for allegedly sexually harassing a minor girl who visited his shop.

According to the complaint, the accused allegedly harassed the girl three to four times earlier and had threatened her not to reveal the incidents. On one occasion, he also reportedly manipulated CCTV footage to portray the girl in a false light while entering and exiting the shop.

Based on the minor girl’s complaint, Belthangady police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and are conducting further investigation.

Authorities have urged anyone with additional information to come forward to support the ongoing probe.
