FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – A woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly robbing a man at knifepoint in downtown Fargo and stealing his bicycle.
Police responded to a robbery call around 1 p.m. on July 28 near the downtown Fargo Public Library. The victim reported that his green bicycle had been taken by a group of people, one of whom was a woman brandishing a knife. He said the group confronted him in a grassy area north of the library. The woman allegedly held a knife at her side and demanded the bike, which he surrendered. The group then left in the direction of Broadway.
Just over an hour later, around 2:22 p.m., officers were alerted to a woman near Broadway Square who was riding a bicycle and pulling a green one behind her. Police approached, but the woman initially continued riding slowly and didn’t stop until she rounded a corner near the Radisson Blu hotel, where officers detained her.
She was identified as Tiffany Morin, who told officers she got the bike from someone named “Montana” near the Empire and claimed not to have heard police calling her. She also admitted to carrying drug paraphernalia and a folding knife in a small bag.
When confronted with the victim’s description, Morin changed her story, saying she had been at the library around noon but denied committing any robbery. While Morin was in custody, the victim identified her as the woman who had held him at knifepoint and confirmed the green bicycle was his. He recovered his bike and left the scene.
Morin was arrested and charged with robbery, possession of drug paraphernalia (Schedule 1, 2, 3 – second offense), and four outstanding warrants.
