Thrissur, Kerala: In a major drug bust, excise officials seized eight kilograms of cannabis at Kokkala, near the Thrissur railway station, on Saturday morning. Two men from Odisha — Yesanthan and Meher Pradhan — were arrested in connection with the case.

The contraband was packed in four bundles and carried in two bags. Officials said the accused had arrived by train, and the cannabis is suspected to have been smuggled from Odisha.

According to excise authorities, the seized stock is valued at several lakhs of rupees in the illegal market. Further investigation is underway to determine the supply chain and whether others are involved in the smuggling network.
