Three Teens Arrested in Fatal Shooting of Bre’nee Veasley in Milwaukee

Nursing student killed in chaotic crossfire; suspects face serious charges

MILWAUKEE — Three teenagers have been arrested in connection with the June 20 fatal shooting of 19-year-old nursing student Bre’nee Veasley, who was killed in a violent incident near 82nd Street and Brown Deer Road.

Veasley was leaving a party near the old Northridge Mall when she was tragically caught in the crossfire of what court documents describe as a “Wild West style shootout.” Investigators recovered 110 spent shell casings from eleven different firearms at the scene. Alongside Veasley, another teenager, Kingston Liphford, was also killed, and three others were injured.

Authorities previously arrested 17-year-old Earl Williams III, charging him with attempted first-degree intentional homicide, felony murder, and possession of a machine gun. Two additional suspects, 18-year-old Jardan Anderson and 17-year-old Isiah Daniels, face charges of aiding a felon.

Veasley’s cousin, Brionna Austin, expressed a mix of relief and pain following the arrests. “It was a relief, but it still hurts. It’s painful,” she said.

Bre’nee was pursuing her nursing career inspired by the loss of her grandfather, hoping to help others and ease their suffering. Her girlfriend shared that Veasley wanted to ensure others didn’t experience the same pain her family did.

Despite the arrests, the family remains troubled by the absence of a clear motive behind the shooting. “They took her. And we don’t have a reason why,” Austin said.

Court documents also reveal the suspects tried to avoid capture by spray-painting their getaway vehicle a different color. In a separate incident, Williams was involved in a crash with a police cruiser and fled the scene before being apprehended.

Williams is currently held on a $300,000 bond, with his first court appearance scheduled for September 8. Anderson’s hearing is set for September 29, while Daniels’ date has yet to be determined.
