Three Students Arrested for Robbing at Knifepoint in Vilankurichi

Police Seize Laptops, Phones, and Gold from Robbery Gang of Students

Three students from a private college were arrested for robbing a realtor and his friends at knifepoint on February 17 in Vilankurichi. The arrested students were identified as B Mohandass (20) from Ramanathapuram district, M Gowtham (19) from Virudhunagar district, and M Sujin (24) from Kanyakumari district.

According to the police, R Devadharshan, a 24-year-old realtor from Zamin Uthukuli, had been staying in a rental house at an apartment in Vilankurichi along with five other youths. On the night of the robbery, a gang of six individuals entered Devadharshan’s house, threatened him and his friends at knifepoint, and stole valuable items, including a gold chain, one sovereign of a gold ring, four mobile phones, and two laptops. The gang also threatened the victims with severe consequences if they reported the crime to the police.

Following an investigation, the police arrested the three students and recovered the stolen laptops, phones, and gold ornaments. Further investigation is ongoing.
