Arunachal Pradesh police in East Siang district have arrested three staff members of a Sainik School following the death of a 12-year-old cadet, reportedly due to bullying and torture by senior students.
The arrested personnel include:
Devendra Singh (42) – house master from Mau district, Uttar Pradesh
Kangge Darin (31) – house master from East Siang district
Amar Singh Thakur (51) – hostel superintendent from Bilaspur district, Himachal Pradesh
Police confirmed that investigations are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the cadet’s death and the alleged role of the school staff in failing to prevent or address bullying incidents. Legal proceedings have been initiated under relevant sections concerning child abuse, negligence, and custodial responsibility.
Authorities have appealed to school authorities nationwide to maintain strict vigilance against bullying and to ensure student safety in residential institutions.
