Three Minnesota Men Arrested for Stealing Baseball Equipment in Iowa

Carter Oney, Kaysen Platz, and Jeffery Wanhala Face Theft and Burglary Charges

Three men from Minnesota were arrested over the weekend after allegedly stealing baseball equipment from a University of Iowa athletic building. According to police, Carter Oney, 19, of Becker, Minnesota, Kaysen Platz, 19, and Jeffery Wanhala, 19, both from Big Lake, Minnesota, entered the Jacobson Athletic Building at 950 Evasheski Drive around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday.

The suspects reportedly stole $2,000 worth of baseball gear before being found trespassing at Kinnick Stadium. University of Iowa police responded to the scene and arrested the three men. They now face charges of Second Degree Theft and Third Degree Burglary.

Photos of the suspects, Oney, Platz, and Wanhala, were released by the University of Iowa Police Department following the arrests. The case continues to unfold as the men face legal consequences for their alleged actions.
