PRICEVILLE, Ala. — Three men were arrested early Sunday morning after a traffic stop led to the discovery of drugs and firearms, according to the Priceville Police Department (PPD).
At approximately 2 a.m., officers conducted a stop on a vehicle traveling south on I-65 near the 334 exit. Upon making contact with the individuals inside the vehicle, officers initiated a narcotics field investigation.
During the search, officers uncovered a significant amount of fentanyl pills, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, multiple firearms, and bundles of rubber-banded U.S. currency, which were all consistent with the illegal sale and distribution of narcotics.
The three suspects arrested in connection with the incident were identified as Courtenay Levon Borden, Antwane Markeith Cook, and Lanoah Ealy Jr., all from Sylacauga. They were taken to the Morgan County Jail on the following charges:
Ealy Jr.: Unlawful possession of a short-barreled rifle, unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, second-degree promoting prison contraband, unlawful possession of marijuana (1st), and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held on a $145,000 bond.
Borden: Unlawful possession of a short-barreled rifle, second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held on a $60,000 bond and also has a nationwide extradition warrant for non-compliance with probation out of Talladega County.
Cook: Unlawful possession of a short-barreled rifle, second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He is also being held on a $60,000 bond.
This arrest follows an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking and illegal firearm possession in the area. Authorities are continuing their efforts to address illegal drug distribution and ensure public safety.
