MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Three men have been arrested and charged in connection with a series of car thefts and burglaries across Shelby County.
Paterrio Hopson, Charterio Porter, and J’Marion Moore face multiple charges, including aggravated assault, burglary of a vehicle, theft of property, evading arrest, and possession of marijuana. Their crime spree took place between February 28 and March 5.
Among the reported incidents:
A Toyota Avalon was stolen from a strip mall on Winchester Road on February 28.
On March 2 and March 4, two women had their purses stolen while pumping gas at separate stations on Winchester Road and Poplar Avenue.
On March 4, a suspect pointed a gun at a witness who saw them burglarizing a Mercedes-Benz at a gas station.
A Nissan Pathfinder was stolen on March 5 and later used in attempted burglaries at two Enterprise car rental locations.
That same day, officers with Memphis and Bartlett Police tracked the stolen Pathfinder to a Valero gas station. When authorities arrived, the three men attempted to flee on foot but were caught after brief chases.
Police recovered a loaded gun on Porter, marijuana on Moore, and car keys to the stolen vehicles on Hopson. A search of the Pathfinder uncovered:
A modified AR-style rifle
A loaded Glock handgun
Stolen driver’s licenses, debit cards, and IDs
A stolen FedEx package still marked as “in transit”
All three suspects are being held on a $150,000 bond and are scheduled to appear in court on Friday morning.
