In a significant drug bust, Gauripur Police in Assam’s Dhubri district arrested three individuals and seized over 33 grams of suspected heroin during a targeted raid at Geramari Part-1.

The accused were identified as Manjuma Bibi, Enamul Hoque (son of Late Firoz Ali), and Sahadul Hoque — all residents of Geramari Part-1 under the Gauripur police station limits.

The raid took place near Enamul Hoque’s residence. Upon entering the premises, officers observed two individuals attempting to flee but successfully intercepted them. A subsequent search revealed 30 plastic containers and a polythene bag containing a combined 33.84 grams of heroin.

A Motorola mobile phone was also seized, and on-site drug detection tests using a DD Kit confirmed the presence of heroin. The entire operation was documented via the e-Sakshy app for legal transparency, with independent witnesses present throughout.

The arrested individuals and the seized contraband were taken to Gauripur Police Station. Authorities confirmed that legal proceedings under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act have been initiated, and further investigation is ongoing.
