A joint operation by the Nawabganj police and the ANTF (Barabanki unit) led to the arrest of three drug peddlers on Friday, who were caught with a large quantity of illegal drugs. The police seized 103 kg of ganja, 250 kg of bhang, and two luxury four-wheelers during the operation, which took place near Jhokri area.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Prabhakar Upadhaya (36), Manish Kumar Mishra alias Pintu (42), and Satyadev Mishra alias Pintoo (47), all residents of Nawabganj and Holagarh. The trio was allegedly in the process of delivering drug consignments when they were apprehended by the police.
According to officials, the three men were part of an inter-district gang involved in smuggling illegal drugs using luxury cars for transportation. Both Manish Mishra and Satyadev Mishra had previous criminal records, which further linked them to ongoing illicit activities.
The police have registered a case and are continuing their investigation into the drug smuggling operation.
