Pune rural police arrested three brothers from Ahilyanagar district in connection with a robbery worth Rs 3.53 lakh in Daund taluka on June 11. The trio — Yogesh Bhosale (24), Sachin Bhosale (39), and Gahininath Bhosale (29) — were also linked to 19 recent burglaries across Pune district.
On June 11, five men broke into a farmer’s house in Daund, threatening family members with knives and stealing gold jewellery and cash worth Rs 3.53 lakh. The Daund police registered a dacoity case and launched an investigation.
Following a tip-off, Assistant Police Inspector Kuldip Sankpal and his team set a trap near Daund, successfully apprehending the three brothers. During interrogation, they admitted involvement in 18 burglaries and one dacoity case since January.
Authorities revealed that the brothers, along with 25 family members, have been involved in around 60 similar cases across various districts in Maharashtra over the past six months. Police are actively searching for the remaining family members.
