In a significant drug bust, three individuals, including a minor, were arrested at Madurai Railway Junction on Sunday for smuggling 8 kilograms of ganja. The drugs were reportedly being transported from West Bengal by train.

A special team from the GRP (Government Railway Police) was conducting routine checks aboard the Purulia-Tirunelveli Superfast Express (Train No. 22605), traveling from Dindigul to Madurai, when the suspects were caught. The police rounded up the three individuals, who were traveling without tickets, and seized the 8 Kg of ganja from them.

The arrested individuals were identified as Ajith Kumar, David Raja, and a 17-year-old boy, all from Tirunelveli. They initially claimed to have boarded the train at Bishnupur and were heading to Virudhunagar.

The GRP police arrested the three suspects at Madurai Railway Station, and investigations are ongoing to uncover more details about the operation and the source of the drugs.
