Three arrested, three wanted in connection with over 115 burglaries of local retailers across Chicago area

Police seek 3 more in 115 overnight retail break-ins

by Sophia Bennett

CHICAGO – Authorities have arrested three men and are searching for three more in connection with a large-scale burglary ring responsible for over 115 overnight break-ins across Chicago suburbs between February 2024 and May 2025. The targeted retailers suffered over $1 million in losses.

The suspects — operating out of Chicago’s West Side and connected to gang activity — arrived at stores in stolen or fraudulently rented vehicles. With faces concealed by masks and often armed, they forced entry into businesses, stealing large quantities of high-end liquor, cosmetics, and cash from ATMs. They fled police at speeds over 100 mph.

The investigation was led by Arlington Heights and Vernon Hills police, in collaboration with more than 20 departments across the region. Detectives worked closely with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, resulting in 98 total charges.

Arrested suspects include:

Jimmy C. Hall, 30, of Chicago – charged with 16 counts of burglary, 5 counts of organized retail crime, 1 count of attempted burglary, and 1 count of theft.

Dequane J. Hall, 29, of Chicago – charged with 2 counts of burglary and 1 count of organized retail crime.

Marquise D. Williamson, 24, of Wheeling – charged with 13 counts of burglary, 4 counts of organized retail crime, and 1 count of theft.

Still wanted:

Demario M. Brown, 26, of Chicago

Darryl D. Williamson, 26, of Chicago

Antonio Lewis, 26, of Chicago

Authorities say the group initially targeted catalytic converters in 2023, then escalated to retail burglary. Stolen goods were resold via social media and through personal networks.

Court dates are set for July 17 (Williamson) and July 21 (both Halls). The search continues for the remaining suspects.
