AUBURN,Maine — Three individuals, including two men from Georgia, were arrested on drug trafficking charges after a traffic stop in Auburn on Friday, January 3.
The arrest stemmed from an ongoing investigation led by the Auburn Police Department’s Proactive Community Enforcement Unit (PACE). The suspects in the vehicle were identified as 19-year-old Aliyah Jeanpaul of Westbrook, 22-year-old Wakarii Weeks, and 22-year-old Michael Cressey, both from Georgia, as well as a 17-year-old female from South Portland.
During the traffic stop, police seized two firearms, approximately $3,400 in suspected drug proceeds, and oxycodone pills. Jeanpaul, who was on bail for prior criminal cases, was arrested for violating her release conditions, which prohibited possession of firearms. She was later released after posting $250 cash bail.
Weeks and Cressey were charged with being prohibited persons in possession of firearms due to felony convictions in Georgia. Cressey also faced two misdemeanor counts of drug possession.
After the arrests, police executed a search warrant at a residence on Dunn Street, where Weeks and Cressey had been staying. The search uncovered 112 grams (4 ounces) of crystal methamphetamine, 4 grams of crack cocaine, digital scales, 75 grams of an unknown substance, and another firearm.
As a result, both Weeks and Cressey were charged with Aggravated Trafficking of Scheduled Drugs (Class A) and two counts each of Unlawful Possession of Scheduled Drugs (Class C). Their bail was increased to $25,000 cash.
The 17-year-old female was released into the custody of her parents following the traffic stop. The investigation is ongoing.
