Three Arrested in Statesboro Homicide That Left Norcross Man Dead

Suspects held in Bulloch County Jail after fatal shooting at Campus Crossings

STATESBORO, Ga. – The Statesboro Police Department has arrested three suspects following a fatal shooting that left a Norcross man dead and another injured at Campus Crossings on Lanier Drive early Friday morning.

Incident Details
Officers responded to the 12:30 a.m. shooting and found two gunshot victims.
Mikeal Hamilton, 24, of Norcross, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ian Lamar Rumph, 24, was transported to East Georgia Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Arrests & Charges
Steven Williams, 21, of Augusta: Murder & aggravated assault.
Joseph Miles, 18, and Malik Rashad Freeman, 19, both of Lanier Drive: Misdemeanor obstruction & making false statements (felony).
All three suspects were detained at the scene and later transported to the Bulloch County Jail, where they remain awaiting court action.
During the investigation, the Statesboro-Bulloch Crime Suppression Team also arrested several individuals on drug charges at Campus Crossings.

The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia Southern University Police assisted in the case, which remains under investigation. No motive has been released at this time.
