Three Arrested in Pitt County Armed Robbery Case

Greenville suspects face gun and drug charges

PITT COUNTY, N.C. — Three people were arrested following an investigation into a reported shooting that authorities later determined was an attempted armed robbery, the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responded at 4:49 p.m. on Jan. 3 to the area of Stantonsburg Road and Ashland Drive near Greenville after reports of multiple gunshots. A person later arrived at ECU Health with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Investigators determined the shooting stemmed from an attempted armed robbery. Additional evidence uncovered during the investigation led to multiple arrests. The case remains under active investigation.

The suspects booked into the Pitt County Detention Center include:

Kayla Schaelling Flythe, 27, of Margarettsville, charged with possession of a stolen firearm; held on a $15,000 secured bond.

Cameron James Hunter, 22, of Farmville, charged with possession of a stolen firearm; released after posting a $15,000 secured bond.

Cristian Dasean Frank, 23, of Greenville, charged with carrying a concealed weapon, trafficking fentanyl, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, resisting a public officer, and identity theft; held on a $100,000 secured bond.
