Three Arrested in Connection with Murder of 21-Year-Old in Bakersfield

Bakersfield, CA (KBAK/KBFX) — Three individuals have been arrested in connection with the murder of Rolando German Ramirez Vargas, a 21-year-old man who was fatally shot earlier this month at Potomac Park in Bakersfield. The Kern County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) has announced that they are actively investigating additional suspects.

The incident occurred on February 4, 2025, at around 6 a.m. when deputies responded to a shooting at Potomac Park. Upon arrival, they found Vargas suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite efforts to assist, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

KCSO investigators soon identified Isaac Barraza, 19, as a primary suspect in the murder and arrested him on February 10, 2025. Following further investigation, Mario Bravo, 18, and Joseph Truskoski, 19, were also arrested on charges of conspiracy and accessory after the fact.

Authorities have stated that their investigation is ongoing, and they are working to identify and apprehend additional individuals involved in the crime.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone with information to come forward as they continue to seek justice for the victim.
