Basistha police carried out two successful operations based on intelligence inputs, resulting in the arrest of three repeat offenders linked to multiple thefts in the city.
In the first operation, officers apprehended Asraful Islam of Juria and Chandan Boro of Patarkuchi. During the raid, police recovered a stolen bicycle and a Vivo mobile phone. Authorities noted that both suspects were known thieves and had been under surveillance prior to their arrest.
In a separate operation, a team from the same police station arrested a habitual offender, Zakir Ali of Howli, from the Natunbazar locality. Police seized a Vivo and a Realme mobile phone, believed to be stolen, from his possession.
Authorities stated that these arrests are part of ongoing efforts to curb repeat thefts in the city, with investigations continuing to identify any additional stolen property or accomplices.
