Three individuals were arrested by the Town North police in Kerala on charges of online fraud. The accused, identified as Saran Suresh (24) from Alappuzha, Akshay T.S. (21) from Cherthala South, and Jinesh K. Josy (39) from Thrissur, allegedly defrauded a youth from SRM Road to the tune of Rs7.20 lakh by posing as law enforcement officials.

According to the police, the fraudsters established contact with the victim over the phone, pretending to be law enforcement authorities. They convinced the victim that he was involved in a criminal case and demanded a large sum of money for the resolution of the issue.

The victim, trusting their false claims, transferred Rs7.20 lakh in various installments. The scam was only discovered after the victim realized that he had been duped, and a complaint was filed with the authorities.

Following a thorough investigation, the police arrested the three suspects, who have now been charged with online fraud and impersonation. Authorities are continuing to probe the case and are looking into the possibility of other victims.
