EASTON, Md. — Three suspects have been arrested in connection with a bank robbery that occurred earlier this month at BayVanguard Bank on Idlewild Avenue.
The robbery took place on June 2nd, when a man described as wearing white clothing, a lime green baseball hat, and sunglasses, entered the bank and handed a teller a note demanding money while brandishing a firearm. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, running toward Idlewild Park.
A joint investigation between Easton Police and the FBI used surveillance footage to track the suspect’s movements. It was found that 21-year-old Makhyla Jenkins drove 20-year-old Jeremiah Carter and 31-year-old Deondre Williams to Idlewild Park. Williams exited the vehicle and returned minutes later with the stolen money, identifying him as the robbery suspect. Jenkins later dropped Williams and Carter off near Kelley Gibson Street.
On June 6th, detectives executed a search warrant at a residence linked to Carter and Williams, gathering more evidence.
All three suspects were arrested: Carter on June 16th, and Jenkins and Williams on June 18th.
Williams faces charges including first and second-degree assault, armed robbery, firearm use in a violent crime, reckless endangerment, theft between $1,500 and $25,000, and conspiracy.
Jenkins and Carter face similar charges, with Jenkins also charged with removing vehicle plates to conceal identity and neglect of a minor.
The investigation remains ongoing.
