Troy, NY — The Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office arrested three individuals in connection with a four-month investigation into the distribution and sale of cocaine and fentanyl in the Lansingburgh area of Troy.
David Arrington, 58, of Troy, was arrested on an indictment warrant and charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree. Arrington has four prior felony convictions.
Benjamin Jackson, 26, also from Troy, was arrested on an indictment warrant and faces two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree.
Elijah Brewington, 32, also of Troy, was already out on release and awaiting sentencing for a previous narcotics-related case. He was arrested again on an indictment warrant for one count of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree.
All three suspects were remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail and are scheduled for future court appearances.
The investigation was initiated after several community complaints, with special recognition given to Rensselaer County Assistant District Attorney Spencer Lane for his assistance.
Sheriff Kyle Bourgault emphasized the Sheriff’s Office’s commitment to tackling drug trafficking and the importance of community protection: “The fight against drug-related crime is about more than enforcement; it’s about restoring public safety and protecting families,” he said.
