Three Arrested for Casino Attack in Cambodia; Three Still Wanted

Suspects Fired Shots and Threw a Grenade at Security Guard

KANDAL PROVINCE, CAMBODIA – Cambodian police have arrested three men in connection with a violent attack on a security guard at Thmar Pich Casino, where gunshots were fired and a grenade was thrown.

The incident occurred on September 26, 2024, at 1 p.m. in Kam Samnor Krom Village, Leuk Dek District. According to the Phnom Penh Municipal Police, four suspects on two motorcycles approached the casino before opening fire.

The security guard, who sustained an injury to his left arm, was shot seven times. The attackers then threw a grenade at him, but it failed to detonate.

Following an investigation, authorities arrested three suspects:

Meas Oun, 52, Cambodian, residing in Prey Veng Province

Tang Young Vieng, 44, Vietnamese

Nguyen Yi, 38, Vietnamese

Police are still searching for three more Vietnamese suspects believed to be involved in the attack. The investigation is ongoing.
