MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Three men have been arrested in connection with a robbery and car theft on Beale Street after a dispute involving the victim’s girlfriend, authorities said.

Cristian Riddick, 19, was charged with Robbery to wit: acting in concert. Nile Jolly, 20, and Donterrious Pollard, 18, were charged with Robbery to wit: acting in concert and Theft of Property $10,000-$60,000 (motor vehicle theft).

According to police reports, the incident occurred on October 12 at approximately 3:30 a.m. on the 200 block of Beale Street. The victim told officers that he and his sister were with her boyfriend when a group of six men approached them.

Police said one suspect began making advances toward the sister, and when she rejected him, he became angry. The victim intervened after insults were directed at his girlfriend, prompting the group to attack him multiple times. Reports indicate the victim was assaulted three separate times, and the suspects demanded he empty his pockets.

The suspects ultimately took $80, a phone, and the keys to the victim’s car, fleeing westbound on Peabody Avenue. Surveillance footage confirmed the car theft.

On October 14, Nile Jolly was identified as a possible suspect. The victim and his sister later confirmed his involvement. During his arrest on October 23, Jolly identified Riddick and Pollard as accomplices, and stated that he and Pollard had been in the stolen vehicle.
