MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) — Three people have been arrested and charged following an armed robbery that resulted in a shooting at a Montgomery gas station on June 10.
The incident occurred around 9 p.m. on the 200 block of Dickerson Street, where 34-year-old Bruce Hover was found with a gunshot wound to his right side. His injuries were deemed life-threatening, and he was transported to Baptist South for emergency treatment.
Police also spoke with 35-year-old Eric Reda, who was with Hover during the incident. Reda reported that while sitting in his car, a man dressed in a purple “pimps” costume climbed into the back seat, brandished a gun, and demanded their valuables. Despite compliance—Reda gave cash, and Hover handed over a handheld game system—the suspect shot Hover.
Surveillance footage helped police identify the suspect’s getaway car, which was linked to 42-year-old Terry Willis Jr. The following day, law enforcement located the vehicle at an unidentified casino with assistance from tribal police.
Valerie Heidelburg, the car’s owner and Willis Jr.’s roommate, was also found at the casino. She confirmed Willis Jr. as the driver at the time of the robbery.
Willis Jr. was apprehended without incident at a Montgomery residence. During questioning, he named 39-year-old Latisha Miller and 30-year-old Michelle Jackson (referred to as “Lachelle”) as accomplices in the car during the robbery.
All three suspects—Willis Jr., Jackson, and Miller—have been charged with robbery and assault. Willis Jr. is held at the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
